These Nylon Insert Hex Locknuts are Grade 5 (Ti-6Al-4V) titanium and are TRUE TITANIUM(TM). They are stronger, lighter and completely corrosion free, even in saltwater. The nylon insert in the hex nut allows for the threads on a bolt or screw to embed themselves into the nylon holding it firm and in place so that it does not loosen from vibrations. These are structural, aerospace grade nuts with a minimum yield strength of 128,000 psi (880 Mpa) while weighing 44% less than steel.
