This Grade 2 titanium coil has various names, such as split coil, foil or titanium strip. It is TRUE TITANIUM(TM), meaning it is actual titanium versus another material that has been titanium coated or plated.
With a minimum yield strength of 39,900 psi (275 Mpa), Grade 2 titanium is comparable in strength to stainless steel. Of course, Grade 2 (CP) titanium is corrosion free in saltwater while stainless steel crevice corrodes dangerously.
We manufacture this coil to order and allow our customers to set the size of the individual coils. In this case, each coil will weigh between 600 and 800 pounds. This coil is 0.021 +/- 0.003 inch thick and 3.172 +/- 0.004 inches wide, so one pound will be approximately 92.1 inches long. This means each coil will be between 4,605 and 6,140 feet long. The mill finish for this material is defined in the ASTM B265 standard. These coils also come with full mechanical and Chemical Certification as well as a Certificate of Conformance (CoC) to verify that they meet the specifications on the Unique Part Descriptor (UPD) Sheet.
